Summer Research Program
Student Research at VP&S offers a range of research opportunities to rising second year students who wish to spend their first summer while in Medical School researching a topic of their interest. Though there are other research opportunities available, most are offered by the NIH Summer Program and by the Global Pop Summer program. Both programs offer funding to students who are selected to participate so that they can cover some of their living, travel, and research expenses during this period. For both programs, students are matched to a mentor who will be responsible for guiding their research work. Both programs are application-based and the deadline to submit an application is usually in early February. An informational session is usually organized in the Fall with details on the application process.
