Did you know the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S) was the first medical school in the American Colonies to grant the MD degree? Founded in 1767 as the School of Physick of King's College, VP&S has a rich history of pioneering medical education, scientific research, patient care, and community service. In 1859, the VP&S Alumni Association was established to be much more than an organization based on a common bond of nostalgia. We are a group of alumni mutually concerned with the present and future of our medical school and affiliated hospitals, the caliber of education and research they produce, and the quality of student and resident life.
We don't just practice medicine. We change it. Read more about the history of VP&S.
Mission and Constitution
We strive for the welfare of VP&S and to promote a mutually beneficial relationship between the medical school and its graduates. Read our Constitution and By-Laws (PDF).
Our alumni leaders are committed to advancing our mission and constitution.
