Using a faculty-driven approach, the Virginia Kneeland Frantz Society for Women Faculty offers women faculty various types of mentoring opportunities that include the following:

  • Facilitated peer-mentoring group sessions focusing on specific strategies for career advancement
  • Skill-building workshops such as negotiation and conflict resolution training
  • Professional development programs such as research team management and leadership programs
  • Group mentoring sessions that focus on general topics raised by group members
  • Sponsorship opportunities

CUIMC Leadership and Management Course for Women Faculty

Spring 2018

The Office of the SVP for Faculty Affairs and Career Development for CUIMC is offering a re-designed  four-day program which is designed for CUIMC women faculty who currently have leadership/management responsibilities or who wish to include these in their career goals. The CUIMC Leadership and Management Course for Women Faculty will help participants develop knowledge and skills necessary for current and future leadership positions in the academic health sciences and will address how gender nuances leadership and management roles. Program sessions will utilize active learning methods, including case studies, discussion, and the development of a personal project.

Course objectives include:

  • Leading organizational change
  • Self-management
  • Foundations of financial management for organizational units at CUIMC
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Leading individuals and teams

Funding Opportunities to attend the AAMC Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminars

Each year the AAMC offers intensive programs on leadership development specifically designed with the needs of women faculty either in the early-career or mid-career phases. The Virginia Kneeland Frantz Society for Women Faculty will provide partial funding for full-time P&S women faculty who are admitted into these programs.
