In 2016, the Wu Family China Center presented Dr. Clyde and Mrs. Helen Wu Distinguished Award for International Understanding to Dr. Henry Kissinger for his pioneering role in the establishment of a diplomatic relationship between China and the U.S. in 1971. Chen Zhu, MD, Honorary Columbia Doctor of Science and China’s former Minister of Health, was the 2017 award recipient.

Between 2017 and 2019 the Wu Family China Center at VP&S hosted an annual symposium with Zhejiang University School of Medicine (ZUSM), alternating between New York City and Hangzhou, China.

To encourage more research-based collaborations in various medical fields, the Wu Family China Center also provides an annual research fellowship for postdoctoral students from China.
