In Memoriam: Joan Edelstein, PT, MA, CPed Joan served as director of the Columbia Physical Therapy Program from 1991-2001. An expert in orthotics and prosthetics, her accomplishments and contributions were many. Read the story.
Program News: Cynthia Worthington, Admissions Coordinator, Retires
After 29 years of service working with three program directors, Ms. Worthington, the program's admissions coordinator, retires. Her post-retirement plans include travel and volunteering. Read the story.
Faculty News: Dr. Margaret O'Neil Edits New Edition of CP Textbook
Dr. O'Neil served as co-editor and author of two chapters of the influential text entitled "Cerebral Palsy, 2nd Edition." Read the story.

Dr. Laurel Daniels Abbruzzese (third row, center) was part of the APTA’s Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy (AGPT) regional programming faculty that met in November 2019 to discuss enhancements for future educational offerings. 
An interdisciplinary student-faculty discussion was held in October 2019 entitled  "Navigating Conversations as an LGBTQ+ Provider: A safe space for LGTBQ+ members and allies to share experiences and perspective." The session was co-moderated by DPT III student Emily Vandervort, and  PT faculty member Dr. Colleen Brough. In attendance were DPT and OT students as well as PT faculty Dr. Laurel Daniels Abbruzesse and OT faculty Dr. Dan Geller.
