Dr. Rami Said Joins DPT Faculty in Dual Role

We are pleased to announce that Rami M. Said, PT, DPT, MEng, Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, has joined the faculty of the Programs in Physical Therapy in the Department of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine. Dr. Said, a CUIMC DPT alumnus, has been an adjunct faculty member since 2011. He will continue to provide instruction in several courses: Gross Anatomy, Kinesiology and Biomechanics II, Orthopedics, and  the Sports Rehabilitation elective. He will also serve as Director of Columbia Physical Therapy, Tarrytown, NY, the Columbia Physical Therapy Faculty Practice.

Dr. Rami Said, PT, DPT, MEng

As the Director of the Physical Therapy Faculty Practice, he specializes in delivering individualized physical therapy treatment to patients of all ages with a wide range of musculoskeletal, sports, and spine injuries. His areas of interest include creating a movement-based injury risk profile for athletes of different sports, the utilization of technology to assess biomechanical forces and stress applied to the body during therapeutic exercise, and the delivery of physical therapy education.

Dr. Said received his Bachelor’s and Master of Engineering degrees from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, NY, NY with a focus in biomechanics. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Columbia University, where he received the Mary Callahan Award for Academic and Clinical Excellence in Physical Therapy. He maintains membership in the American Physical Therapy Association and the Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy Sections.

When he is not working, or spending time with his two daughters, Maddie and Samantha,  Dr. Said enjoys playing golf, coaching and playing basketball, and watching baseball and football. He roots for the home teams: Knicks, Yankees and Jets.
