Admissions

Admission to the MS/OTD program is offered at several entry points: during the initial MS application, in the fourth semester of the MS program, and for alumni within three years of graduation of the MS program.

For Students Applying Early

There is an option on our entry-level MS application to indicate that you are interested in the MS/OTD program.  Your application to the MS program will be considered independently and then applicants will be considered for early admission to the post-professional OTD program.  If you are accepted to the MS program but not granted early admission to the OTD program, you will have the opportunity to apply again with the rest of your cohort following the procedures below.

The acceptance is contingent on your maintaining the academic and professional standards listed below.  If you are accepted and decide not to participate in the OTD program once you start the MS program, you can withdraw with no penalties.

**Please Note: OTCAS incorrectly limited the character count on the MS/OTD application this year.  If you would like to send us a longer response via email at otadmissions@cumc.columbia.edu, we can add it to your application.**

For Current Columbia MS Students and Recent Alumni

Admission to the MS/OTD program is highly selective and not automatic.

Current MS students in their second year and alumni who have graduated in the past three years are eligible to apply.

Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.67 in their last semester of coursework in the MS program and who have demonstrated exemplary fieldwork performance and professional behaviors will receive higher priority.

Students with cumulative GPA of 3.0-3.66 in their last semester of coursework and who have demonstrated exemplary fieldwork performance and professional behaviors will be considered for application review.

Admission in each cohort will be capped every year. Interested MS students need to submit the application form and letter of intent to Rochelle Mendonca PP-OTD Programs Director at rm3736@cumc.columbia.edu by March 31, 2024.
