Association of Women Surgeons

Columbia's chapter of the Association of Women Surgeons is dedicated to supporting the needs of aspiring women surgeons.

Some of the topics that we review with colleagues and mentors are:

• Balancing family issues with the demands of a surgical career, including when to have children;
• Pay and promotion equity issues; and
• The lack of women in academic leadership positions.
