Columbia-Bassett Track

Ten medical students are selected each year for the prestigious Columbia-Bassett track, which offers the opportunity for them to care for patients in a large, mostly rural population. Students spend their first 18 months learning Columbia's basic science curriculum in New York City, followed by a longitudinal clerkship year with exposure to health care management at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, N.Y. Students choose electives in the final phase of the curriculum from either campus.
