Meet our Current Fellows

Administrative Fellows (2019 - 2020)

  • Gosia Vogelgesang, MHA

    Gosia Vogelgesang was born and raised in New York City. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Community Health and Biology at Hofstra University in Long Island, New York. She then went on to pursue her Master's in Health Administration from The George Washington University, in Washington D.C. While pursuing her graduate degree, Gosia served as a graduate research assistant at The George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health, an intern within the emergency department at Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital and a strategy and communications intern at the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group. Currently, Gosia is the Administrative Fellow with the Vice Dean's Office within the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. She is excited to work with various departments within the College of Physicians and Surgeons and grow in an organization that is committed to innovation and providing high-quality patient care. When she isn't running along the FDR drive, Gosia is exploring new restaurants in New York City, hiking, reading and enjoying time with her family, friends and overly friendly Papillon-Maltese, Carmello.

  • Hye-Lee Jung, MPH

    Hye-Lee (Haley) Jung is originally from South Korea, but moved to New Jersey with her family before her first birthday. She graduated from Brown University with a major in political science. She completed her Master’s in Public Health with an emphasis in Health Care Management at Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health. While at Emory, Hye-Lee had the opportunity to work with the principal investigator on an NIH-funded disorders of sex development study. She is grateful to be the current administrative fellow in the Faculty Practice Organization within the Operations Office and is excited to make Columbia University her professional home. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and as a new New Yorker, exploring the city.

  • Clara Kil, MHSA

    Clara Kil is from Long Island, New York and attended Johns Hopkins University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration (MHSA) from the University of Michigan. Prior to her fellowship, she interned at Michigan Medicine in the Department of Surgical Services as a Clinical Operations intern. Through this internship she led several initiatives to reduce surgical supply costs while improving patient safety. She is currently a fellow in the Department of Medicine and is most excited to rotate through multiple clinical divisions and core functions to gain a better understanding of how to lead a large and complex health system. In her spare time, she enjoys running outside, hiking, playing with her dog and exploring new coffee shops.

    Clara Kil
  • Nida Farhoud, MHA

    Nida Farhoud was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. She earned her undergraduate degrees in Business Management and Public Health at Tulane University. Later, Nida went on to earn her Master’s in Health Administration at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. During her time at Columbia, Nida interned at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, working closely to better patient experience, improve through-put, and decrease operating room turnover times. Currently, she is serving as the Administrative Fellow with the Faculty Practice Organization with the Chief Medical Information Officer team. Nida’s work focuses on health information management and technology, with aspects of project management, change management, operations, and compliance. In the future, she wants to work on improving Middle Eastern North African (MENA) health to bridge the health disparities gap and develop the Institute for MENA Health. In her down time, Nida enjoys baking with her best friends, visiting new neighborhoods, and going to as many ice cream shops in the city as possible.

Human Resources Fellow (2019 - 2020)

  • Alexis Nicholas, MSHRM

    Alexis Nicholas was born and raised in the Bronx, New York and is currently the Human Resources Fellow in the Department of the Vice Dean of Administration. She attended Stony Brook University, where she earned her undergraduate degree with majors in Political Science and History. Alexis later continued her studies at Stony Brook University and recently earned her M.S. in Human Resource Management. She is also certified in Employee Relations and Organizational Development. Alexis is excited for the opportunity to kick-start her career in Human Resources by expanding her learnings, knowledge, and skills. As the current HR Fellow, her goal is to fully utilize this experience while making a significant contribution to the success of Columbia University. In her free time, Alexis likes to spend quality time with her family and friends, dive into a good book and travel. Currently, she’s traveled to 12 countries.
