2-1 Promotion, Title Change, or Renewal of OOIs and OORs at Junior Ranks

Policy

Departments may propose promotions, title changes, and renewals for both full-time and part-time officers of instruction at the ranks of Assistant Professor and below. Departments, schools, institutes, and centers may propose title changes, promotions, and renewals for both full-time and part-time officers of research at the ranks of Associate Research Scientist and below.

Requirements

Department submits the following:

  • Letter from chair to Dean recommending that the promotion, title change, or renewal be granted and including title, effective date, and reason for the request
  • Officer’s CV, using the COAP format as a guideline
  • Documentation approving salary change, as applicable
  • Affirmative Action RAPS Clearance (only for promotions from Instructor to Assistant Professor and from Postdoctoral Officer to Associate Research Scientist, unless a search was conducted when the Postdoctoral Officer was recruited)
  • A PAF reflecting action/reason codes DTA/CNW or DTA/Complete University Title (in the case of a title change)

Workflow

  • The OFA Representative reviews the submission for completeness and accuracy.
  • OFA approves and submits to CUIMC Payroll the PAF and, if applicable, the approvals of the salary change.
