The International Students and Scholars Office-CUMC is a constituent team of the International Students and Scholars Office on the Morningside campus of Columbia University, and as such is the primary office responsible for international students, scholars, faculty and staff at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center. ISSO-CUMC ensures federal immigration compliance and provides immigration-related services to non-immigrant international students, scholars, faculty and staff throughout CUMC. ISSO-CUMC currently serves approximately 1200 international scholars, faculty and staff, and approximately 600 international students in allied health fields.

The ISSO-CUMC sponsors F-1, J-1, H-1B, O-1, E-3 and TN-1 visas and prepares visa documentation for accompanying family members. All visa documentation for individuals working or studying at the Medical Center must be processed through the ISSO-CUMC (with the exception of students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, who should contact the ISSO on Morningside).
